Over the years, I have written several papers that I liked better than
the journal editors did. Typically if they were not accepted on the first
go, I would put them in my desk drawer to ripen, while I went on to another
project. I intended to get back to these papers and make them more appealing
to editors, but there is always something that is more fun to do.
The manager of this homepage (sensible chap that he is) has agreed to
put some of them up here so that any interested reader can find them without
rummaging through my desk.
Please feel free to quote them, even if they may be wrong.
