Academic
Material As in past sessions of the AEA Summer Training Program, the program will emphasize economic theory, quantitative skills, and a research project. The program offers courses at two levels. This bi-level approach increases the diversity of participants, and makes the program accessible to students with relatively weak backgrounds who are nonetheless capable and talented. Program participants not ready for the Advanced Level will be able to participate in the program for two summers -- or they can enter a Master's program instead of moving directly to a PhD program. The combined Foundations and Advanced Level programs are expected to have about 35 students in 2008.
