John O. Lewis IV Memorial Fund

The John O. Lewis IV Memorial Fund was established by the family of John O. Lewis to recognize students for breadth in their studies at UC Santa Barbara. Economics majors who excel in artistic endeavors are encouraged to apply.

John O. Lewis, a '58 Economics alumnus, was President of The Lewis Company in Malibu, CA.


The 2008 recipient of the John O. Lewis IV Memorial Scholarship is Matt Rexroth. Matt is a graduating senior majoring in Business Economics with an Emphasis in Accounting. He has earned a GPA of 3.83 in the major. In the future Matt plans on working for an accounting firm, pass the CPA exam, and travel throughout Europe. In the distant future he plans on obtaining his MBA.
