The Career Connection provides a bridge between the academic curriculum our undergraduate students pursue and their post-UCSB careers. For the most up-to-date Career Connection information, follow us on our blog.
Advising
We have drop in advising from 8:00 am – 12:00pm every day. If you prefer to schedule an appointment for the afternoon, please email Joan (joan@econ.ucsb.edu) to schedule an appointment.

CPA Advising
If you would like to track your progress with the CPA requirements please bring a copy of your course history from GOLD to the Career Connection Office (2119 North Hall). You can access your course history by selecting “academic history” on the left side bar and then clicking on the “course history” tab. You must make an appointment for CPA advising.
Transcript requests for the CPA Exam
All students who plan to sit for the CPA exam upon graduation must send official transcripts to the California Board of Accountancy (CBA). These requests are no longer handled through GOLD and must be done through an outside service. Complete instructions on how to order the transcripts and have them sent o the board can be found here.
Resume and Cover Letter Critiquing
Your resume is the first impression an employer will have of you and the basis by which you will or will not be selected for an interview. Your resume should reflect your qualities and experiences most relevant to the position for which you are applying.
Cover letters are simply marketing letters to promote your experiences, skills, and educational background.
