11th Occasional
California Workshop on
Environmental and Resource
Economics

October 9-10, 2009
Organized by
Bob Deacon, Paulina Oliva and Julian Neira
Made possible, in
part, by a grant from the US EPA.
Sponsored by the University of California Center
for Energy and Environmental Economics (UCE3),
the UCSB Department of Economics
the Bren School of Environmental Science
and Management
and Ivory Tower Winery
The
first California Workshop on Environmental and Resource Economics was held in
May 1993 at Centennial House at UCSB, organized by Bob Deacon and Charlie
Kolstad. Since then, every 12-24 months (i.e., occasionally), UCSB has
hosted this California workshop. On October 9-10 the 11th such Occasional Workshop
will be held at UCSB.
The primary focus of the workshop is on graduate students, faculty and
researchers at universities, public or private institutes, or government
agencies involved in research in environmental and natural resource economics.
The program provides researchers the opportunity to share their work and/or
ideas in a relaxed, workshop environment.
As in
the past all sessions will be plenary and we will attempt to accommodate a
large number of papers, implying that individual presentations will be
relatively short (~10-12 minutes). The conference venue is Corwin Pavilion on
the UCSB campus.
The Program can be accessed by clicking HERE

The
final travel grant amounts are $179 for presenters/discussants/chairs and $89
for non-active participants.
*****************
Funding
There will be no registration
fee for attending the conference. Travel block grants will be available
for all presenting participants (including session chairs and discussants), and
smaller grants will be available for all non-UCSB students attending the
workshop. These grants will be processed and mailed after the Workshop. We
currently estimate that $230 will be available for presenters, and $105 will be
available to attendees not presenting. (See
Note) These amounts may change, depending on the
number of participants. Transportation and lodging will be arranged and
paid for by the participants, but a shuttle will be provided between the
suggested hotels (scroll down) and UCSB. In addition, meals at the
workshop will be provided.
*Note: As the number of
registrants has exceeded our expectations we now anticipate that stipends will
be lower than estimated earlier. Our revised estimates are $180 for those presenting, discussing or serving as session chairs
and $90 for non-active attendees.*
Registration
The
registration is closed.
