Longitudinal Study of U.S. Scientists
Catherine J. Weinberger, University of California, Santa Barbara

This research is at a very early stage.  The purpose of the study is to extend our knowledge about relationships between early experiences and later creative productivity within a population of individuals trained as scientists.

In July 2007, I mailed 3500 surveys to members of the American Physical Society.

My current goal is to identify scientists who, in the spring of 1960, were enrolled in grades 9-12 of a U.S. school.

Protecting confidentiality is an especially high priority in this research.  I personally attached the address label to each survey envelope.  No one else will know the link between individual personal information and confidential identification numbers.
