The UC Santa Barbara Department of Economics invites applications for the Wilcox Family Chair in Entrepreneurial Economics at the Associate or Full Professor level. The Chair is expected to start on July 1, 2020.

The Chair was established to promote excellence in the Department of Economics and to foster connections between the Department and UCSB’s Technology Management Program (TMP).

Because the Chair will support UCSB’s entrepreneurship programs, preference will be given to individuals with corporate experience, business start-up experience, or a demonstrated interest in supporting entrepreneurship. The chair holder is expected to devote about half of his/her instructional efforts in supporting student entrepreneurship.

Qualified applicants should have a PhD in Economics or a related field by the time of application. Preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated research program that advances the study of Economics, and a record of teaching and mentoring.

The department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community at UCSB.

All application materials for the Wilcox Family Chair in Entrepreneurial Economics should be submitted online on UCSB’s Recruit website. A complete application will include a CV and a letter of intent.

We will begin reviewing completed applications on January 21, 2020. The position will remain open until filled.
