Sandro Brusco is professor of economics and finance at Stony Brook University. He was previously employed at Universidad Carlos III in Madrid and at the Institute of Economic Analysis in Barcelona, Spain. He has also been visiting professor at the Stern School of Business, New York University and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. A native of Italy, Sandro graduated in Economics at Bocconi University in Milan, and he then proceeded to earn a Ph.D. in Economic Analysis and Policy at the Graduate School of Business of Stanford University. His main research interests are in applications of mechanism design, corporate finance, and political economy. His work has looked both at questions of pure theory and at applications, among others to corporate finance, trading mechanisms and electoral systems.
