Zheng "Lawrence" Wei is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Economics at the University of California, Santa Barbara. His research interests lie at the intersection of Macroeconomics and Labor Economics, with a particular emphasis on search and matching theory. His current work focuses on assortative matching, wage inequality, and skill mismatch in the labor market. He investigates the link between market frictions and sorting outcomes to better understand recent U.S. labor market trends. Prior to UC Santa Barbara, Zheng studied at the University of Washington in Seattle and received a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Mathematics. He is currently on the job market and will be available for interviews at the ASSA 2021 annual meeting.
